03 Mar Nevada’s BIG GIVE
The Reno Philharmonic is participating in Nevada’s BIG GIVE on Thursday, March 23rd and this is a huge deal for our organization.
Our fundraising focus this year is a FREE family concert, Beethoven Lives Upstairs, during Artown this summer. The concert will be held Monday, July 24, 2017 with family activies beginning at 5:00 PM and the concert at 7:00 PM. We’re aiming to raise $7,500 in one single day.
ABOUT THE CONCERT
The world famous production of Beethoven Lives Upstairs features a lively exchange of letters between young Christoph and his uncle. Their subject is the “madman” who has moved into the upstairs apartment of Christoph’s Vienna home. Through a touching correspondence dramatically underscored with the composer’s most beautiful excerpts, Christoph comes to understand the genius of Beethoven, the beauty of his music, and the torment of his deafness.
Audiences are captivated by more than twenty-five excerpts of the master’s music, including the Moonlight Sonata, Fur Elise, and the great Fifth and Ninth Symphonies. The music is magically woven into the drama as two actors share their anecdotes and observations based on true incidents from the composer’s life.
With children receiving less exposure to classical music than ever before, it is pivotal that we rally support from family, friends, businesses and community to make sure we can make this concert a reality for our entire community to enjoy!
Here’s what you can do:

2. SEND this to family, friends, and co-workers, whether you donate or not. And ask them to share, too!

Remember, March 23rd is the day to GIVE BIG to the Reno Phil!
