What year did you join the orchestra?
I was first hired in July 2012.

How long have you been playing music?
I started on piano when I was 5 and on violin when I was 7.

How did you pick your instrument?
I come from a musical family and I wanted to play an instrument no one in my family already played.

Occupation?
Operations Manager for the Reno Phil, and professional violinist

When you’re not playing with the Reno Phil, what would we most likely see you doing in your free time?
Playing electric violin in my country/rock band, Reckless Envy, or spending time with my husband John and my 4-month old baby boy, Jack.

What genre of music are you most excited to play?
Rock & Country

What is your favorite piece of all time to play, and why?
Scheherazade by Rimsky Korsakov. The melodies are so beautiful. It gives me chills to play.

If you could meet one composer/musician, who would it be and why?
Lady Gaga. She is an amazing musician and artist and I’d love to know more about how she went from being a student of music to one of the best known female artists of this century.

What is your favorite vacation spot?
I love to visiting the Napa Valley and Las Vegas.

What do you think the audience would find surprising about you?
I also sing in my country/rock band.

What about performing live music brings you joy?
Music brings people together. I love playing music with my friends and seeing the joy it brings our listeners.
