David Wilhoit began his 34-year career with Wacker in the sales organization advancing to positions in the U.S. and abroad. In Sept 2014, David moved to Wacker Chemical Corporation (WCC) in Michigan as President and CEO.  In 2015 under the direction of David, WACKER’s largest investment began its ramp of Polysilicon production in Tennessee and in 2022, WCC developed and moved to a World Class Innovation Center/Headquarters in Ann Arbor, MI. David has been a proponent of building out the domestic solar supply chain working closely with several State and Federal departments and the White House. He has mentored University and Graduate students developing start-ups in the Nucleate Bio-accelerator. Professional speaking engagements have included: numerous industry events; COP 28 in Dubai (United Nations Climate Change Conference); University of Michigan Ross School of Business; UNR in Incline Village. 


In 2024 David retired and moved to Incline Village with his wife of 33 years Anne; they have two grown children. Throughout his life he has been a staunch supporter of the Arts and recently served on the Board for the University Musical Society (UMS) at the University of Michigan. He is a proud supporter of the LGBTQIA+ community supporting many non-profits in their work and bringing the first LGBTQIA+ employee resource group and Pride celebration to his former company. David’s enthusiasm for promoting arts education and performances with youth and the community led him to his work with UMS, and he is thrilled to now serve and support the Reno Philharmonic!
