APPRENTICESHIP OPPORTUNITIES
Join the Reno Phil’s RPA Kids (RPAK) Teacher Apprenticeship and help bring high-quality music education to elementary students across Washoe County. This hands-on, after-school program places apprentices alongside experienced teaching artists at local Title I schools, where they observe, assist, and gradually take on instructional responsibilities in small group violin and music literacy classes. Designed for individuals who enjoy working with children and are interested in developing their teaching skills, the apprenticeship provides structured mentorship, real classroom experience, and the opportunity to grow into a lead teaching role. Apprentices participate in weekly sessions, support student learning, and contribute to performances and recitals, all while advancing the RPAK mission of making music education accessible to every child. AUDITION OPPORTUNITIES
The Reno Phil is currently seeking musicians to join the orchestra for upcoming auditions. Under the leadership of Music Director Laura Jackson, the Reno Phil presents a wide range of performances serving Northern Nevada and Eastern California, including the Classix Series, pops concerts, family concerts, and Young People’s Concerts. The Reno Phil also supports four Youth Orchestras and delivers music education programs to thousands of students throughout the region.
Auditions are currently being held for the following positions:
• Second Bassoon – Audition: May 13, 2026
• Section Violin, Viola & Cello – Audition: May 17, 2026
