As the official kick-off event for the 2025 Cordillera Film Festival, the Wednesday, September 30 concert will feature a live panel following the film with actors from the film. Starting at approximately 8:00 PM - included with your ticket purchase.

Jason Altieri, Conductor

Jason Altieri is the current Associate Conductor for the Reno Philharmonic and Music Director of the Atlanta Pops Orchestra in Atlanta, Georgia. Prior to his work in Reno and Atlanta, was the Music Director of the New Sigmund Romberg Orchestra and the Hollywood Film Orchestra. Having led New Sigmund Romberg Orchestra on 7 national tours, Jason has the distinction of having conducted in most of the major performing venues in the United States. With the Hollywood Film Orchestra, he led several tours in Mainland China and Japan. Numerous guest-conducting engagements include regular collaborations with the Duluth Superior Symphony in Minnesota, the Santa Fe Symphony, and the New Mexico Philharmonic.

In addition, Jason Altieri is a fierce advocate for young musicians and music education. He is the current Director of Orchestras at the University of Nevada, Reno and Directorship of the Reno Philharmonic Youth Orchestra. Under his leadership, the Reno Philharmonic Youth Orchestra has embarked on numerous performance tours including appearances at Carnegie and Davies Halls. In April of 2017, Dr. Altieri was invited to conduct at Nevada’s Small School All-State Festival. His educational outreach extends nationally as well through numerous clinics with young ensembles all over the country in addition to Faculty appointments at the Interlochen Center for the Arts and the Sewanee Summer Music Center.

A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Jason Altieri received a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from the University of Georgia. He then went on to get advanced degrees in conducting from Michigan State University.
