PRESIDENT & CEO TIM YOUNG RETIRES FROM RENO PHIL AFTER 19 YEARS

Reno, Nev. (January 3, 2022)— Tim Young, the longest serving executive director of the Reno Phil, has retired after 19 years, leaving the organization stronger than when he took the helm.

As President/CEO of Nevada’s largest performing arts organization, he has put many of the pillars in place that make the Reno Phil what it is today and he leaves the institution in a place of prosperity, poised to seize the opportunities of the future. He steered the organization through the recession, and a pandemic, and managed to keep the orchestra in the black.

“For me personally, there will be many things I will miss about working with Tim,” said Music Director Laura Jackson. “But what I will miss the most is that he truly understood the value of great art and of having a wonderful project to work towards and look forward to. The number of times I brought some audacious and expensive project to him is too many to count, but he never said “No.” He always found a way to make things happen while keeping the Phil solid and healthy. The Reno Phil is in a good place now. We do more for this community and we do it so much better because of Tim’s hard work.”

A nationwide search to fill his post is underway, details will be announced soon. For any inquiries please contact Interim President & CEO Angela White at awhite@renophil.com.
