RENO PHIL RETURNS TO CENTER STAGE: BEETHOVEN’S FIFTH KICKS OFF HISTORIC 55TH SEASON

Reno, Nev. (October 5, 2023) — On October 14 and 15, the Reno Phil will launch its 55th season of its Classix season. The highlight of the program will be Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony, a piece of music that many will recognize due to its beloved opening measure. The guest artist of the evening will be 21-year-old pianist Daniela Liebman, who has performed with more than 30 orchestras across four continents.

“The audience will be mesmerized by each piece on this program,” said David Hyslop, Interim President & CEO of the Reno Phil. “Our 55th season marks an incredible point in the history of the Reno Phil and combining Beethoven’s Fifth and Daniela Liebman is sure to leave the audience mesmerized.”

The featured soloist of the evening, Daniela Liebman, made her orchestral debut with the Aguascalientes Symphony at the age of eight and has since gone on to perform all over the world. Born in Guadalajara, Mexico, Daniela began to study the piano at the age of five and currently studies with Yoheved Kaplinsky at the Juilliard School in New York. Daniela will be playing with several other orchestras this season, including the Hartford Symphony, Wichita Symphony and the Sequoia Symphony.

“Daniela is a gifted pianist who will no doubt leave our audience wanting more,” said Laura Jackson, Music Director and Conductor of the Reno Phil. “Daniela has a commanding presence on the stage and will blow away our patrons, this is going to be a special evening.”
